I have lived and worked in Whitstable since coming here as a student in the 1970s – I fell in love with it instantly.

My interest in ceramics grew from a chance job as a Girl Friday at Tabor Pottery in Canterbury with Les Brown, a job which turned into a four year apprenticeship.

From the moment I first learned to use the wheel I was hooked, and over 30 years later, still love to throw pots.

The outlet for my work is ‘Seagulls and Flamingos’ (Address: 12 Harbour St, Whitstable CT5 1AQ). Our shop opened in Whitstable in 1985 as an outlet for locally made ceramics, furniture, glass, and clothes. Nowadays it has expanded to include a wide range of non-local and fair trade goods.

We’ve now moved out of the Belmont Yard Studio and are looking forward to welcoming new and returning students to the new space at Unit 13, Joseph Wilson Industrial Estate, Millstrood Road, Whitstable CT5 3PS – starting September 2018

Individual lessons and sessions for up to 6 people available at my small home workshop if you can’t bear to wait
