My interest in ceramics grew from a chance job as a Girl Friday at Tabor Pottery in Canterbury with Les Brown, a job which turned into a four year apprenticeship.
From the moment I first learned to use the wheel I was hooked, and over 30 years later, still love to throw pots.
The outlet for my work is ‘Seagulls and Flamingos’ (Address: 12 Harbour St, Whitstable CT5 1AQ). Our shop opened in Whitstable in 1985 as an outlet for locally made ceramics, furniture, glass, and clothes. Nowadays it has expanded to include a wide range of non-local and fair trade goods.
Weekly Update Friday 27th March – the studio is now closed for classes and lessons, but if you would like to be part of an online group, communicating via WhatsApp, let me have your mobile number, and I will set weekly handbuilding challenges for you to carry out at home. Clay will be available from the studio in small parcels, and I can deliver locally. All work will be glazed and fired for you – creativity is the way forward!,
Classes, individual lessons and drop-in sessions are at Unit 13, Joseph Wilson Estate, Millstrood Road, Whitstable CT5 3PS
We will be exhibiting at The Fish Slab Gallery, Whitstable from 28th April – 5th May 2020 – now cancelled
